CAB issues appeal for more volunteers

YOUR Citizen Advice Bureau (CAB) needs you! Shepshed is looking to recruit more volunteers to run its Citizen Advice Bureau (CAB). The CAB is located in the Charnwood Road Community Centre. They offer people free independent advice and no appointment is necessary. The CAB are open at the following times – Wednesday 9.30am to 1pm and Friday 9.30am to 12.30pm.

At a recent full council meeting, Coun Jennie Lennie said that CAB is calling for more volunteers. She said "It sounds from the volunteers that it is a very rewarding job they do for the community such as managing debt and benefits, but it is much wider than that. If anyone would like to be a volunteer or know of anyone who would like to then get in touch with CAB".

Councillor Christine Radford also said it is rewarding work for the retired who would like to keep their mind active . You can call 01509 506663 for more information.
